Cat Behavior Management and Training

The Companionable Cat is dedicated to ensuring cats of all ages and dispositions stay in their forever homes.  I believe this can be made possible by providing positive training and behavior modifications to solve behavior problems. The Companionable Cat believes that education and guidance of guardians and their cats can lead to an ever-growing human-animal bond. 

Hello, I am Robin Johnston-Jordan, ABCCT, CFTBS (Certified Feline Trainer and Behavior Specialist) and I am a Fear Free Certified Trainer, FFCP.   My certifications of ABCCT, and CFTBS means that I am knowledgeable and skilled in feline health, behaviors, and management of behaviors.  My Certification as a Fear Free Trainer means I can assist both pet guardians and the Veterinary team to provide behavior modifications that will protect both physical and emotional well-being of the animal, prior to, during and after veterinary visits. I am trained in using the positive rewards approach that utilizes gentle control, touch gradient, and a considerate approach all of which will reduce fear, anxiety and stress.  I help clients to understand their cat's needs and behaviors.  This understanding guides clients to manage their cat's needs in such a way that works for the client and their cat.  I write up well thought out behavior plans to guide the cat guardian along the way. I have studied and practiced clicker training for cats through the Karen Pryor Academy.  I have experience with using the techniques of clicker training and play for fearful cats as well as cats eager to have enrichment in their lives. I am a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. I continue adding on to my skills through education of behavior and training methods.  During my spare time I volunteer at animal shelters where I help to socialize kittens, and cats assisting in preparing them for their next chapter in life with their forever homes. I am a pet owner/guardian to four cats and two dogs.
